Mice
A mouse is a small mammal belonging to the order of rodents. Mice are much smaller than rats, but they can still do a lot of damage. They destroy food, books, furniture and even appliances with their gnawing, urine and droppings. Worse, mice in the home have been linked to a number of human diseases, including asthma. Because of their small size, they can fit through crevices as small as 1/4 inch wide. A family of 6 mice can easily reproduce to a family of 60 mice in 3 months. Reaching sexual maturity at about 4 weeks of age; it’s easy to understand how mouse population can quickly grow out of hand. The staggering birth rate is normally kept under control by natural predators in the outdoors, but owls, hawks, cats and other hunters are absent from typical attic or basement environment’s. A single female can produce 5-10 litters each year. Each litter consists of 5-6 mice that are able to reproduce within approximately 30 days of age.
